Dear friends and B.Forest readers,

Dear friends and B.Forest readers,

The versatility of our cultivated forests is one of the distinct characteristics of this highly productive, sustainable and advanced industry, key for the national economy. From seeds to pulp plants, from the development of new machines for timber harvesting to the production of vegetable coal, the sector involves varied complex and challenging operations.
One example is the highly specialized activity of biological pest control, a trend in forestry and the theme of this issue’s first special article. Moreover, this great diversity of tasks is precisely what attracts many future forestry engineers when they first choose to start walking their professional path. Our second article of the month is about just that – the current internship opportunities for Brazilian forestry students. This 56th issue of our magazine also brings news about smart forestry optimization software, management of secondary forests and an overview of the American forestry industry.
Our main guest this month is Roberto Nadal, forestry harvest manager at Eldorado Brasil. Nadal talks about the transformations in the industrial city of Três Lagoas, fleet renovation and more. Don’t the whole interview in just a few pages!
