Dear friends and B.Forest readers,

Dear friends and B.Forest readers,

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies approved the National Plan for the Development of Planted Forests, with the goal of expanding the country’s productive forest area in 2 million hectares by 2030, a 20% increase in the current planted area. This is definitely a moment of new opportunities and broadened horizons for the entire forest production chain, in which we will have a national policy with established actions over the next 10 years, providing greater legal security for investments in forest cultures.
As a publication aimed at covering the forestry sector, B.Forest will continue to analyse the main technological, political and market trends in our sector. In this edition, we have three special reports for you: the first discusses automation opportunities in forest nurseries; the second deals with cutting-edge technology for sawmills in Brazil and abroad; whereas the third covers the importance of choosing a robust and versatile harvest head for productive logging.
And our special guest this month is Mario Grass, executive forestry manager at Suzano, which is currently the biggest agribusiness company in the country. In the interview, Grassi discusses the merger process and the silvicultural challenges the Brazilian giant faces in the global market. Don’t miss it!
